Fosso San Severo

In the valleys on the flanks of Martani Mounts water flows rarely, or even never. In this karst ridge most water flows in the underground.

In Fosso San Severo water flows only in case of heavy rains. The valley features a few weak narrows and a few little cascades. Though Fosso San Severo is very near to Fosso della Fuga it is much easier and less interesting.

I remember ...

It was easier than I had figured. The dry stream was losing height quickly, by a few downclimbings, little rappels, short narrows.
But at a certain point I had the feeling there was something hard before me: rock turned stronger and I could see the sky before me as I was by the edge of a big cascade.

It was the highest cascade of Fosso San Severo, but also the last one.
