A great part of Salto and Turano valleys is dug in impermeable soils, and so many little creeks have perennial flow, while others become dry only in summer.
The abundance of water favors the growth of lush, often intricate and thorny vegetation.
Some steep creeks have gorges and waterfalls, and Fosso del Gufo is one of these.

I remember ...
My exploration of the canyons of Salto and Turano valleys is in the third phase, the one in which you go through the creeks you considered not interesting so far. Sometimes exploration confirms the lack of canyoning interest, but in some cases nice discoveries are made!
