Torrente Laurenzana

The path of Laurenzana stream towards the Trionto is a long, winding and not steep valley between wooded hills, far from roads and villages. The abandonment of pastoral activities is making this environment wilder year after year.
Only twice does the Laurenzana encounter granite steps in which it carves suggestive but very short narrows.
The Laurenzana descent is therefore dominated by hiking, also because of the long approach walk required to reach the first narrow.

I remember ...

Laurenzana has water all year round and therefore would be a perfect destination for the scorching summer days, if it were not for the fact that the approach hike is too long and steep to be done in summer days.
So for this exploration I have to do a long and complex shuttle along mountain roads and lumberjacks' tracks along the crests and steep slopes of the Sila.
