Fosso di Offeio
The little village of Offeio, hidden among the hills of Salto, it is perhaps the canon of the old Italian village of the past. It's little but still alive, and the locals perform the agro-forestry-pastoral activities that take place as always here. It is a fortified medieval village built on a rocky hill that overlooks the gorge of a little creek. Everything here inspires tranquility, evokes relaxation and serenity: no wonder if some of the locals are trying to promote Offeio as a tourist destination for everyone, based on walks (on foot or horseback) and the traditional cuisine. And those who want to add a touch of sportiness and wild environment to their day in Offeio can go down through the Moat, which is the canyon below the village.
I remember ...That the country was alive and attentive to hiking activities it was clear from the curiosity aroused by this stranger who was walking with a big, eye-catching backpack.
A guy greeted me and began to talk of tourism promotion activities he was holding with other villagers, of groups that they would lead the next days, of
possible hiking routes. But when I explained what I was going to do that morning he stood quite incredulous:
it's not possible he said, no one can pass there!. I know, I said, and that's why I'm here! in my backpack I have everything I need to pass where no one
could to.
Well, my friends from Offeio, now you know: in Offeio there is also a canyoning route. It's nothing special, but there is, and you can see it in the photos and video that
I publish on this page.
